Morrisby is very popular with independent schools and is used across years 10-12. To find out more about the tests look at their website www.morrisby.com but basically it is a series of tests covering the student’s logic, verbal ability, non verbal reasoning, numerical reasoning, spatial awareness and mechanical awareness. It also includes personality tests that examine mental awareness, flexibility, commitment and initiative. As well as giving absolute scores, Morrisby gives a profile of the student’s strengths and how best to employ them. It also produces career suggestions, based on the profile and an interest guide, which are very helpful in giving the student direction. Whilst the test report is useful in its own right, the process is far more valuable if you get feedback by an expert and we believe that our system is the most thorough available. Our method is very structured and takes around 50 minutes. GTA discuss the scores and personality profile with the student & their parents (we always invite parents to attend), look at the results of the interest questionnaire and compare them to the aptitude profile, discuss the suggested careers and finish by discussing the short, medium and long term career options and decisions to be made. In addition to the report, we write a detailed interview summary and give our business email to enable students/parents to ask any follow up queries or seek more advice. This service is ongoing throughout the student’s time in education. |
